Photography has always been a passion of mine and I’ve been shooting since my schooldays. There I battled with a clunky Russian Zenith SLR, black & white film and cramped darkrooms. This taught me the crucial essentials of aperture, exposure, depth of field and ISO.

Since then, things have progressed a long way, but the goal remains the same … capturing a great image.

I’ve been further inspired by working with a number of great photographers in London and Los Angeles and have developed niche skills of panorama and composite photography.

On Location
My favourite photography is on location where you can use the best lighting source there is … natural light. Of course that often needs to be augmented.
In the Studio
I’m equally at home in the studio and have wide experience of the many lighting approaches. Studio work offers complete control of the working environment and gives the luxury of using far more elaborate lighting setups.

The Subjects

I’m equally at home with professional subjects (e.g. models or musician shots for clients) or photographing people who are less used to being in front of a camera.

The key is always to put someone at ease and give them the confidence that you’ll bring out their best.

Although it should rarely be obvious, this is the art that turns a good picture into a great one.

Aside from my own photographs, I’ve been retouching for models and photographers in the UK and US for over 15 years.
